Emily is from Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There she met her future husband, David, a native of Duxbury. After some time in both North and South Carolina, Emily, David and their three children decided to move to Duxbury, where they had spent many summers visiting David's family, and where they could begin a new adventure. Their daughter Emma is a civil engineer and lives in the Boston area. Emma's wife, Autumn is also a civil engineer in the Boston area. Their son, Edward is a marine mechanic with Atlantic Boats in Wareham; their youngest, Ross, is a student at the College of Charleston.

Emily has much experience to call upon in her position here as Associate Minister, and has much experience working with youth. For 19 years, she worked for Young Life, a ministry for high school kids, as well as teaching high school French in NC, and has also worked in the special education department at Alden School for several years. She has a Masters of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School. Emily is ordained in the United Church of Christ. She was called to be our associate in February of 2014 and started in that role in March of 2014.

Emily enjoys playing tennis, needlepoint, reading and walking. Emily is called to help with worship, pastoral care and youth ministry at Pilgrim Church.
